East 92nd Street
Street Façade Restoration
Completed design and repair documents for restoration of deteriorating
brownstone façade, metal cornice and wood windows, and secured approval
from NYC Landmark Preservation Commission for the required scope. The
existing façade was stripped of the asbestos containing coating and the deteriorated brownstone material was removed. The entire façade was resurfaced with historic mortars and coated with a Landmark approved masonry
stain to restore the building to its existing finish. Deteriorated wood windows
were patched and painted and broken lites were replaced with historically
sourced glass. Cornice was scraped free of loose paint, miscellaneous sheet
metal repairs were conducted. The cornice was then primed and painted with
a rust inhibitive coating.
